It can also lead to thinning hair loss. As women age there is an increased risk for hormone therapy as well as other conditions such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, and endometrial cancer. Women who choose to treat their menopause through HRT should be aware that the medications can cause certain serious side effects such as bone loss and osteoporosis. While it is important to get regular mammograms, HRT is not a substitute for regular mammograms.
